Getting ready for the inspection

Day Of The Inspection

  1. Allow sufficient time for the inspection- the average Pillar to Post inspection takes between 3 – 3.5 hours or approximately 1 hour per 750 square feet.
  2. Make sure the keys are available for any locked doors.
  3. Allow access to storage sheds, attics, yards, crawlspaces, basements, and garages.
  4. Provide access to components such as electrical panels, water, and gas meters.
  5. Clear objects from around the water heater, furnace, a/c condensers to allow unimpeded access.
  6. Clear walkways and paths of trash, debris, and dirt around the exterior of the home.
  7. Keep pets in a safe location; out of the home or in a crate.
  8. If unoccupied PLEASE make sure all of the utilities are on so as not to require a re-inspection and/or fee.

What We Inspect

  1. The Exterior Structure, foundation, walls, roof/attic and exterior wall covering.
  2. The Plumbing, sinks, faucets, drains, toilets, tub/showers.
  3. The Electrical, plugs, switches and light fixtures.
  4. The Heating and Air Conditioner, for function and test for the temperature at each register.
  5. The Interior, windows, doors, permanent appliances.
